1. I found out about this last year. Google text aka never call an operator ever again. This is free and that 411 that all non-google insiders use isn't. This is probably more popular than I think but it's ok, I'll keep thinking that it's super exclusive that only an elite few know about.
2. Guillermo Del Toro's "The Orphanage." What the hell? Just look at dude's mask and tell ME if you can fall asleep without the lights on. Several women screamed (including myself) in the theater, and guys were even jumping out of their seats. I won't name names.
3. Burberry clutch. I have my eye on the prize. I'll let you know in 4 days, 6 hours and 44 minutes if I win.
4. Burberry rain boots to match? Yea, that's fine. I haven't gotten these yet; they're sold out at a ton of stores. Where can I get them besides Ebay? Get at me asap, thanks.
5. Lupe Fiasco's "The Cool." When I'm not listening to this..
6. Sonic Youth's "Daydream Nation." I'm listening to this.
7. Dunkin' Donuts Iced Coffee. No explanation needed.
8. "Planet Earth" The Complete BBC Series. This shit right here. This shit..right..here..
Honorable Mention:
Javier Bardem, Midway Headquarters, Hot Dougs, John Kennedy Toole's "A Confederacy of Dunces," Chris Brown, leopard print and being over 2007.

Gene Lee continued..
Instead of reporting about the assassination of Pakistan's former Prime Minister Bhutto (R.I.P), I'll keep the coverage coming about Gene Lee aka SEOUL:
Straight from his myspace blog (http://www.myspace.com/seoulfood)

GENE LEE in memoriam Gene had been suffering with drug abuse, bipolar disorder for some time, and we believe him to be in a much better place now. He was truly troubled, and intelligent, and beautiful soul who had a hard time feeling he was not being recognized for who he was- a true artist. In the letter he left for his family he wanted to remembered for his music, his dance, and his expressions of joy, that masked the painful demons that plagued him for the ten years after he dropped out of medical school. We have honored his request to post his music, and will be maintaining this site as a memorial. Eugene recorded close to 100 songs in the time after he left medical school, and it was his wish to post these songs free of charge for those who knew him. This was his gift to the world, and his hope that his spirit would live on through his recordings- which he called his sketches. Any correspondence should be made to SEOUL or r.i.p. gene lee God bless, Lee Family |
Tiffany "New York" Pollard gets engaged..
Is that just makeup or is her eyelash falling off? Anyway, one of my favorite women is finally getting engaged to Tailor Made, who ended up being the winner of her show. I'm still cheering for Midget Mac, however.

More Gene, the 6-corner dancing machine
A little update of my own on Gene Lee, RIP...
I guess word is that he committed suicide.
Anyway, watch this entire video.... the dudes who made it showed it to me today when someone brought up Gene's death. It's actually kinda eerie, and pretty trippy.
What are other well-knowns on the streets of Chicago??? We got Pigeon Man (RIP), the Muffin Lady, even the 80s boombox lady.... then there's also JOJO BABY! Whom I still love from afar and fear all at the same time. There's the Logan Square shopping-cart Christmas tree man, who I've seen numerous times months before and up until Christmas, the Logan/Humboldt & up-and-down-Pulaski Loony Tunes man who jams to his walkmen, wears a headband and an oversized Bugs Bunny t-shirt while selling other ridiculously big airbrushed Tweety and Taz tees. There's even the countless CTA celebrities; enter the traveling blind man, with his huge ass eyes wide open, who transfers from cart to cart and hits everyone with his walking stick on his way through. No one ever knows if it's ok to even look at him let alone make eye contact (oops) because you're still not convinced he's blind.
And...??? Who else, there's more....

Venti iced coffee, soy milk, 2 equal.
Man buys most expensive Starbucks drink also known as a 13 shot venti soy hazelnut vanilla cinnamon white mocha with extra white mocha and caramel. This shit kind of reminds me of an extreme version of that caramel macchiato drink my mom (and every teenage girl and/or pansy dude) prefers. Am I the only one that gets offended at the sight of a "man" sippin' on a girly coffee drink? That's a whole different tangent that I won't dip into..so just excuse me while I vomit and go into sugar convulsions.

R.I.P.
Another Chicago celebrity died? I don't believe it. Gene aka "Seoul" supposedly passed away in New York sometime before Christmas. We've all experienced this legend..mostly on Milwaukee Ave where you could find him dancing while wearing various jumpsuits or spandex. I even ate dinner with him once, no lie..(where's Cesario?). I've heard various stories having to do with him traveling to Chicago after doing too much acid..and that his parents are super rich, etc etc. But really, if anyone can confirm this, that would be awesome. Dead or not though, this superstar (and his good body, I ain't lyin') deserve some recognition..and a post. Viva la Seoul!

Real quick rant..
In response to the Scott Skiles situation, I propose "OPERATION BRING BACK PHIL JACKSON"...because I hate the Lakers and because Jackson is my ultimate favorite. While I'm at it, I propose "OPERATION BRING BACK MJ"...out of retirement (for the fifth time) and to the Chicago Bulls because I'll never truly forgive him for his betrayal aka a huge "WTF" at being on The Wizards. Whatever, I'll make this happen in '08.

Scott Skiles fired!!
The Bulls coach, Scott Skiles was fired by general manager John Paxson today. Salty!
"It’s never a good time. Today’s not better than if we waited or if we’ve done it earlier." Paxson said of his Christmas Eve decision.
Paxson is disappointed in the way the Bulls are playing with the 9-16 start, and with reason.

Car crashes thru NBC 7 studio
This face.....
HAHHHAHHAHAAA
.... is priceless
I wonder what his ass thought it was...
I seen this shit last night downtown on that Lake St. studio that everyone stands outside in front of to wave.... of course the one fucking day I forget to bring my camera out with me.
But it was no accident; supposedly this 25-year-old Evanston man purposely drove his minivan through the studios window. He was arrested and charged with reckless driving and not having insurance. He did fight with the police though when they were trying to arrest him.
ok here's the video:

Naomi Campbell to interview Fidel Castro?
What the hell? No really, what the hell? Somehow Naomi Campbell and her assaultin' people with her cell phone ass is going to interview the devil himself, Fidel Castro. I don't know whether to laugh or to be offended? I mean, first off..dude is half-dead IF not dead already, and well, Naomi Campbell is a model, not a journalist. How are you going to go from Barbara Walters (who had an interview with him in 2002) to this bitch? With all that aside though, Noche Buena is tonight. What are most Cubans praying for? The death of this idiot.

Picasso stolen from museum!
Damn, what a come up...
Three thieves broke in and made away with paintings by Pablo Picasso and Candido Portinari from Sao Paulo's premier modern art museum on Thursday. I guess it was that easy, just no one was ballsy enough to do it til now. All they used was a singular crow bar, a car jack, and took only 3 minutes to:
......break in, steal Picasso's "Portrait of Suzanne Bloch" and Portinari's "O Lavrador de Cafe" from the Sao Paulo Museum of Art, and get away, all before dawn.
And to top it off, both paintings were uninsured.

Christian Louboutin
Christian Louboutin is a french shoe designer and mostly known for his signature red sole. Most of us don't have 600+ dollars to buy these perfect, A+, gorgeous looking shoes, so here's an awesome alternative that I had my nail guy do to me last night. (Hi Sam..)
First, the shoes..
A better view of the red sole..
And now, the nails..
I read about the black top/red underside look a while ago and there's been mixed reviews about it. A ton of women hate it, a ton of women love it..I happen to think it's awesome..looks pretty classic..and costs something like 30.00 to get it done. Another plus is that it's conservative/basic enough for work compared to the whole crazy nail/airbrush craze that's going on . I'll try and post a picture of mine when I get a chance.

R.I.P
You don't park in someone else's shoveled spot. It's just something that is understood among all of us here. The idea of shoveling a parking spot and marking your territory with a piece of patio furniture (or in some cases a fan, as shown below) is not a foreign concept for us Chicagoans. As of today though, prepare to have your place markers taken away by Street and Sanitation workers. This tradition is done. Goodbye.
