R.I.P

You don't park in someone else's shoveled spot. It's just something that is understood among all of us here. The idea of shoveling a parking spot and marking your territory with a piece of patio furniture (or in some cases a fan, as shown below) is not a foreign concept for us Chicagoans. As of today though, prepare to have your place markers taken away by Street and Sanitation workers. This tradition is done. Goodbye.

Coming close to the end of the tour...

Ok ok ok.. fine, I give them shit all the time about thinking they're cool and no doubt that Evan (or Chuck Inglish) is convinced I'm the biggest hater on God's green earth, BUT big things are happening, and I do gotta give the boys they're credit.

So make sure you check out THE COOL KIDS, even if you've been to 34 of their performances, show love. They'll be back home, here in the Chi, where they belong, for 2 days of sold out M.I.A shows:

Nov 21st @ 8:00 pm
House of Blues w/M.I.A in Chicago

Nov 23rd @ 8:00pm
The Vic Theater w/M.I.A in Chicago

Home, Sweet, Home

Chicago and I have been in a relationship for a while now (roughly 22 years)..and I can say that it's getting pretty serious. I've lived in this city my entire life, but I feel as if I'm just not reaching the point where I'm fully appreciating everything it has to offer. I'm convinced we have it all here. The food (do I even gotta go into detail about that?), the museums (did you know our aquarium is the largest in the world?), and of course, us...the people. Check out the link below that's just affirming what we've all known for a while: Chicago is the shit.

Juke All Night, Play All Day :: Chicago’s rainbow colored party scene blew up big in 2007, led by Flosstradamus and Kid Sister. Now it’s the whole city’s turn to shine.

SOFA CHICAGO 2007

14th annual international exposition of Sculpture Objects and Functional Art is back at Navy Pier this year to present masterworks bridging design and fine art.
The event's opening night is tomorrow, November 1st, and continues only til the 4th. So obviously it's a short expo but worth checking out. I used to work at Navy Pier, so I've been able to be there for the event and let me tell you, its HUGE. People come from all over the world, and the work is unbelievable. If you have any appreciation for art, go.
